February 8-14, 2010 The Olympics are coming … make sure you have a stretching mat, exercise ball or some free weights so you can keep busy while watching TV!!
And, if you want to have a day-to-day insight from one of our members that is fortunate enough to be there, check out Jason Murphy’s blog: He is working as a doping control officer at Biathlon and will be doing the urine and blood testing throughout the Games. He has lots of great photos from inside a few back areas and the address for the blog is www.skishootpee.blogspot.com
Linda McLeod, our past treasurer, is also at the games making sure that the computers work. Great experiences !!
Monday and Wednesday: Centennial Pool, 8-9 pm. Swims are busy so make sure you show up on time and that you shuffle over at the end of the lane to allow everyone to get a full 25 metres of swimming per length. New swimmers should look at the pool etiquette under “tips” on our Website.
We will continue to open up for long course on swim nights whenever the opportunity presents itself. It appears that most Wednesdays, there is no one in the other half of the pool so we can practice swimming 50 metres without a break.
Saturday morning: Spin at Armbrae Academy. Doors open at 9:00 am for a 9:15 start. Join Heather Doucette for a good spin and core workout. The workout can be as easy or as difficult as you make it so anyone can attend. Everyone finds their own pace and we try our best. If you have an exercise ball, bring it along for the core workout, if not no worries, Heather has a back-up plan.
Sunday: Happy Valentine's Day !!
